Dolly Ahluwalia, who is known for her acting skills as well as costume designing prowess, has worked in several big Bollywood films in her career. Best known for her acting in Vicky Donor, and Sardar Udham Singh, Dolly has also worked as costume designer for films like Band Baaja Baaraat and Omkara. In a recent interview, Dolly recalled working with Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi in Omkara. She called Ajay and Vivek the biggest pranksters.
In an interview with The Punjabi Link, Dolly said Kareena is ‘magical’. Recalling visiting the actress home for costume fitting, Dolly said, “She has been such a darling. People make up so much rumours around them, but she is a wonderful person. In fact, every person I have worked with are wonderful. Nothing I heard about them was right. There were rumours like Bipasha Basu throws a lot of tantrums, but she was so genuine.”

She added, “However, Vivek Oberoi was very naughty. I am saying naughty and not mean. Ajay Devgn was the biggest prankster on the sets of Omkara. Once a few guys fell unconscious on the set due to their prank. They had brought a ladoo made of bhaang and whoever ate it for the first time, they just fell unconscious and they (Ajay and Vivek) used to be like, ‘Don’t worry, they will be fine.’ Vishal Bharadwaj used to be a little upset, but he knew them so there was never a serious situation on set. We need such fun moments on set to work, to be honest.”
Omkara is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy Othello, set against the backdrop of rural India. Dolly Ahluwalia’s costume design contributed significantly to the film’s authentic look.
