Bollywood actor Daisy Shah made her Hindi film debut alongside Salman Khan in his 2014 film Jai Ho. After appearing in several films, she reunited with the actor for the 2018 action film Race 3. In a recent interaction, Daisy shared some behind-the-scenes insights from the film and recalled how working with Salman was a dream come true for a food lover. She revealed that Salman would host an elaborate feast every day on set, featuring live counters of pani puri and dosa for the cast and crew.

Speaking to Mid-day, Daisy said, “Unka pura resort set-up lagta tha (The set up was like a resort).” She described how a large tent would be set up outside Salman’s vanity van to serve food to the cast and crew. She added, “It’s his vanity van, he has a huge tent, there are three tables with 10-15 chairs around them, and there’s another table where the food is laid out. It’s like a buffet system. I remember snacking on flatbreads, and vada pavs, and sometimes there would be live pani-puri and dosa counters.”

In an earlier interaction, filmmaker-actor Mahesh Manjrekar also spoke about Salman’s love for food and his fondness for hosting everyone on set. During an appearance on Kunal Vijaykar’s Khane Mein Kya Hai YouTube channel, he praised the food from Salman’s house, saying, “I like the food at Salman’s house. He’s also very fond of his spicy food. He wants taste. The thing about Salman is that he doesn’t worry about diets, he likes his spices. I love his home food.” Mahesh added that when they shoot in Mumbai, Salman ensures that his personal chef prepares home-style meals, and usually, the entire unit comes to his van to sample the food.

On the professional front, Salman will next star in Sikandar. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss, who is known for directing Aamir Khan’s 2008 film Ghajini.
