Raayan, marking the biggest opening of Dhanush’s career, has continued its upward trajectory. According to Sacnilk, the film saw a 0.73 per cent increase in its collection on Saturday, minting Rs 13.75 crore. This has brought the film’s total domestic collection to Rs 27.4 crore within two days of its release.

The movie has garnered the most revenue from its Tamil version. Out of the total Rs 27.4 crore domestic collection, Rs 23.85 crore came from the Tamil version, Rs 3.1 crore from the Telugu version, and Rs 0.45 crore from the Hindi version, indicating that the film has struggled to woo Hindi audiences. Raayan is also facing stiff competition in the Hindi and Telugu market from Kalki 2898 AD. Despite being in its fifth week, Prabhas’ film continues to dominate the box office, minting Rs 2.9 crore on Saturday and raking in a total of Rs 628 crore in India to date.

Raayan had an overall 60.85 per cent Tamil occupancy on Saturday, with maximum occupancy seen in night shows. It had an overall 26.12 per cent Telugu occupancy on Saturday.

The movie features music by AR Rahman and is bankrolled by Sun Pictures. This film marks Dhanush’s second directorial venture. He first directed Pa Paandi, which starred Rajkiran in the lead role, with Dhanush making an extended cameo as the younger version of Rajkiran’s character. Now, with Raayan, Dhanush is once again taking on a full-fledged directorial role, in addition to starring in the film. Raayan also features S. J. Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, and Kalidas Jayaram in key roles.
