Khel Khel Mein song? No! An ode to Heyy Babyy, say netizens. Almost two decades later, Akshay Kumar and Fardeen Khan will finally share the screen in the multi-starrer film Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz. While the film revolves around three couples Akshay Kumar-Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk-Taapsee Pannu, and Aditya Seal-Pragya Jaiswal, actor Fardeen Khan, who recently made his acting comeback after 14 years in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, has an important role to play.

On Friday, the makers of Khel Khel Mein released their first track, much before the film’s trailer, titled Hauli Hauli. The Punjabi song, penned and composed by Guru Randhawa, is also crooned by the singer-composer along with Yo Yo Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar.

While the peppy song seemed like a part of a wedding celebration, more than the co-stars’ chemistry what caught people’s attention is Fardeen Khan’s entry mid-song and recreating the iconic step from Heyy Baby with Akshay Kumar. Soon after the song was uploaded on T-Series’ YouTube channel, fans flooded the comments section by expressing their love for singer-rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh. Meanwhile, others noticed the Heyy Babyy touch to the song and expressed happiness. A user wrote, “Heyy babyy step nostalgia hits after watching Akshay and Fardeen.” Another user commented, “Akshay and Fardeen vibing to iconic Heyy Babyy hook step.”

Other highlights of the song were the salt and pepper look of Akshay Kumar, as well as, Chitrangada Singh’s cameo.

Fardeen Khan, who marked his debut in films in 1998, went MIA after his 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya. After making his OTT debut with the web series Heeramandi, Khel Kheli Mein will be Fardeen’s first film after 14 years. The comedy-drama is all set to hit the theatres on Independence Day. The movie will clash with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2.
