Imagine going to school on a regular Friday, opening up your books, finishing your homework at the last minute before the teacher walks in, and bam! One of the biggest superstars of Indian cinema unassumingly walks in wearing a black t-shirt and a white pyjama. It was this sight that greeted kids of a private school in Chennai when Rajinikanth walked into the class to drop his reluctant grandson.

Filmmaker Soundarya Rajinikanth shared photos of her father Rajinikanth and her son, and wrote, “My son didn’t want to go to school this morning… and SUPERHERO THATHA dearest took him to school himself. You are the best in EVERY ROLE you play on and off screen my darling appa. #BestGrandfather #BestFather #JustTheBest.” While the first picture featured Rajinikanth smiling at his grandson who had no interest in going to school, the second photo had him walking into the classroom among extremely excited students.

Social media was abuzz with many netizens enquiring about the school to enroll their own kids, and a few others sharing how the students would have been equal parts surprised and blessed to have seen Rajinikanth in their classroom. Many highlighted the reaction of one young girl in the background, and said it reflected the response many would have if they meet Rajinikanth out of the blue.

On the work front, Rajinikanth has completed shooting for TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, and is currently filming for the much-hyped Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
