Actor Vedang Raina made his acting debut with The Archies. The project also starred Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, and Dot in key roles. While the Zoya Akhtar directorial received mixed reviews, the actors managed to get an impressive launch pad. Recently, Vedang from the film sat down for a candid conversation with Indianexpress.com, where he opened up about how nervous he was on day one of the shoot, working with Zoya and the equation he shares with Agastya and Khushi.

Talking about his journey with The Archies and his co-actors, Vedang said, “I felt my first day was going to be stressful and I didn’t know how they were going to perceive me. I wondered if I would be able to make friends with them or will it be a professional equation. But we broke the ice from the very first day. It felt like we were a bunch of actors trying to do the same thing. It was a fantastic journey with them.”

He even shared how it felt to have a Zoya Akhtar film under his name. “It is a dream come true for any actor in the industry. Even before The Archies, I have been a huge fan of Zoya Akhtar. To be directed by her is like film school itself.”

Surprisingly, acting was never Vedang Raina’s core plan. He was pursuing a music career. At 17 or 18, he sent his portfolio to an agency, and from there the auditioning drill began. Now with one film down, he is rumored to have locked his next. As per reports, the film is called Jigra. It’s with Alia Bhatt, and the two are rumored to play siblings. Reacting to these rumors, Vedang commented, “Everyone keeps asking me this, but I am not sure what it is about. It sounds very exciting to be a part of a project like that. There will always be rumors floating around, but to play a sibling to Alia Bhatt sounds like a very interesting opportunity.”

When asked who from The Archies gang has Vedang formed a strong bond with, the young actor shared, “Agastya broke the ice. I was shy and didn’t know how to talk to people, but he made me feel at home. We formed a great bond there, and I have had a great equation with everyone. All three girls were very warm. Khushi was my first friend, and that’s a really good friendship that I made.”
