Lean hogs are mixed on Thursday, with contracts anywhere from 37 cents lower to 25 cents higher. The USDA National Base Hog price was reported at $82.80 on Thursday morning, down $1.96 from the day prior. The CME Lean Hog Index was $88.80 on July 16, up 18 cents from the previous day. 

Pork export sales totaled 23,674 MT, during the week of July 11, a 4-week low. Shipments were back down from last week at 31,936 MT.

USDA reported the Thursday AM Pork Cutout Value 90 cents higher at $100.22. The picnic and rib primals were reported lower. USDA estimated Wednesday’s FI hog slaughter at 479,000 head, which takes this week’s total to 1.434 million head. That was 19,000 head above last week and 50,143 head larger than the same week last year.

Aug 24 Hogs  are at $91.525, down $0.125,

Oct 24 Hogs  are at $73.875, up $0.200

Dec 24 Hogs  is at $65.500, down $0.375,
