Blake Lively has been on a bit of an Instagram spree in recent days, catching up on the events (and stunning styles) of the past month — including a double-denim look that had the star comparing herself to none other than Britney Spears.
“You say Canadian Prom Dress, I say It’s Britney Bitch👖👖👖,” the “Gossip Girl” alum captioned a post of herself rocking a long denim coat with a coordinating dress on Friday.
Lively wore the sparkly Self-Portrait minidress with a floor-length Dries Van Noten denim jacket as she attended a birthday dinner at Carbone for her “It Ends With Us” co-star, Brandon Sklenar, in NYC June 28.
The look brought back memories of Spears at the 2001 American Music Awards, when she rocked a now-iconic Kurt and Bart denim dress alongside then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, who sported his own head-to-toe jeans look.
The “Shallows” star wore her blond hair in beachy waves for her night out, accessorizing with a tiny denim-and-gold Chanel crossbody and rhinestone-embellished pale blue Gucci heels.
Along with her “Canadian prom dress,” Lively shared several other throwbacks from her busy summer, including a look at the stunning flower-covered Balmain mini she wore to Book Bonanza 2024 and the $19,000 cutout Valentino jeans she wore to a surprise screening of “It Ends With Us.”

As for her OG denim dress, Spears wrote in her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that she loved seeing others copy the gown.
“I get that it was tacky, but it was also pretty great in its way, and I am always happy to see it parodied as a Halloween costume,” the “Womanizer” singer wrote.
We have a feeling Lively’s look would get her stamp of approval.
