Taha Shah Badussha, who gained attention after playing a major role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, is planning to work internationally now. In a new video shared on Instagram, the actor was seen visiting a studio in London, where he spoke about his plans to work abroad. This happened soon after he shared a photo with Hollywood star Tom Cruise, whom he described as his ‘lifelong idol’.

Taha shared this with a caption that read, “Pinch me! Just met my lifelong idol. The one and only Tom Cruise!” Tom Cruise was reported to be in London for the premiere of Twisters, which stars Glen Powell. Tom and Glen worked together in the 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick.

The Netflix show was widely discussed on the internet and while there were members of the audience who appreciated its aesthetics, it received a lot of criticism for Sharmin Segal’s performance. Sharmin and Taha were romantically paired opposite each other on the show. Taha defended Sharmin when she was being criticised by the audience and told Puja Talwar, “They have picked on her and whoever I have spoken to, I have made it a point to say that… We are nobody to talk about the audience, but I can talk about people, who are close to me, like my mom and dad. They have come up to me and shared logical explanation as to how her performance was and it made complete sense. I was with her on set for almost 100-110 days. I have seen her put her best foot forward.”

In another chat with Zoom, he said that Sharmin always “tried to do her best” and said, “As far as Sharmin and her performance are concerned, I’ve literally lived with her on the sets. She was always punctual and tried to do her best. How it comes off to the audience, is a different ball game and I can’t comment on them. But I know that she has got a great heart. She was always present on the set and as an actor, that’s what you all need.”
