Actor Ankita Lokhande, who is a contestant on Bigg Boss 17, has often talked about her former boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away in 2020, to her co-contestants Munawar Faruqui and Abhishek Kumar. Many viewers consider it her way of seeking sympathy from the audience. Even her husband Vicky Jain’s mother said that Ankita has been repeatedly taking Sushant’s name for “sympathy”. After listening to all the chatter around her daughter, Ankita’s mother Vandana Lokhande, who entered the Bigg Boss house on Thursday, explained to her why she should not talk about the past.

On Thursday’s episode of Bigg Boss 17, Vandana met her daughter Ankita and son-in-law Vicky and told them how their fights inside the house are becoming a matter of gossip outside. She also told them to be careful about the words they use for each other. After talking to both of them, she sat down with Ankita in the garden area and told her to focus on her present, not past, hinting at her conversations about Sushant.

She told Ankita, “Bahut saari cheezein bahar achi nahi jaa rahi hain. Log bol rahe inka nahi chalega. Tum dono ko hi samjhne ki zarurat hai. Aur jo tum baar baar past ki baatein kar rahi ho, vo bhi acha nahi lag raha hai (There are a lot of things that are not looking good outside the show. People are doubting your marriage. People are saying it won’t last long. You two need to understand it. Also, the way you are talking about your past is not looking good outside).”

Ankita Lokhande tried to defend herself and reasoned that she talked about Sushant Singh Rajput only when Munawar Faruqui and Abhishek Kumar talked about him. “Woh Abhishek ka idol hai toh woh puchte rehta hai isilye main bolti hoon (He (Sushant) is Abhishek’s idol and he keeps on asking me about him so I talk about him),” said the Pavitra Rishta actor.

But her mother argued that Vicky’s family might not like her talking about her former boyfriend. “But mat bol na. Kuch bhi mat bol (Don’t say anything),” Vandana Lokhande advised her daughter. Ankita added, “But maine toh Vicky ke samne bhi bola (But I have also talked about Sushant in front of Vicky),” but her mom interrupted, “Sab Vicky jaise nahi hai na. Uske ghar ke log kya sochenge, kya sochte hai (Not everyone will be as understanding as Vicky. You never know what his family thinks about it).”

Ankita finally gave in and agreed that she should not be talking about Sushant on the show. Sushant and Ankita met on the sets of the TV show Pavitra Rishta and fell in love. They dated each other for almost three years, before parting ways. Later, Ankita married Vicky Jain in 2021.
