Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer Kalki 2898 AD, which released in theatres on June 28, continues its reign at the Indian box office. The sci-fi epic amassed an estimated Rs 220 crore nett in its first three days, showcasing its undisputed dominance. Early reports, posted at 6 pm by trade tracker Sacnilk, suggest this momentum continued into the fourth day, Sunday, with another Rs 67.19 crore nett raked in from across languages. This positions the film to smash through the Rs 300 crore mark in India by the end of its opening weekend.
Sunday’s initial estimates reflect continued success. The Telugu version of the film boasts a robust 76.77% occupancy rate, followed by a respectable 54.12% for Hindi. Even the Kannada dubbed version drew audiences with a 37.63% occupancy rate for morning shows. Sacnilk reports reveal a phenomenal opening day collection of Rs 95.3 crore nett across all languages. While Friday saw a dip to Rs 57.6 crore nett, Saturday witnessed a strong resurgence with Rs 67 crore nett.

Internationally, Kalki 2898 AD isn’t slowing down. In just three days, it has already garnered over Rs 415 crore. By the end of the weekend, this number is expected to exceed the Rs 500 crore mark.

The film has made significant inroads in North America as well, earning $9.1 million. This impressive figure positions it amongst the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in the US and Canada. However, it faces competition from Hollywood releases like A Quiet Place: One Day and Inside Out 2, the latter of which is projected to surpass the $1 billion mark this week.
Despite the competition, Kalki 2898 AD remains on track to achieve record-breaking numbers. The upcoming holidays in the US and Canada could further boost its success.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his X (formerly Twitter) to share an update on Kalki 2898 AD box office collection. “TRIUMPHANT RUN CONTINUES… WILL HIT CENTURY TODAY… MASSIVE SUNDAY ON THE CARDS… #Kalki2898AD packs a solid punch on Day 3 [Sat], despite #T20WorldCupFinal… National chains witness growth, mass circuits record strong occupancy… In short, biz zooms upwards across the board. Expectedly, the all-important #T20WorldCupFinal [#INDvSA] was an obstacle, impacting its biz from 6 pm onwards… Night shows got affected as well.
