Diljit Dosanjh recently performed at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and became the first Indian artiste to perform at an American late night TV show. Now, Diljit has shared that he actually manifested this a long time ago and also explained why he chose ‘GOAT’ and ‘Born to Shine’ despite his many other hit numbers.

Talking to Sucharita Tyagi, Diljit said that he had actually manifested this moment a long time ago and when it actually happened, his friend texted him reminding him of that moment. “The Jimmy Fallon show, I had told my friend a long time ago. He said you manifested it, you got there,” he said and then showed his friend’s text to the interviewer which read, “Bro, you manifested it, to be on a late night show. Here you go.”

Diljit then shared the reason behind selecting ‘GOAT’ and ‘Born to Shine’ as the two songs for the late night and shared, “Because of the attire. Even ‘Kinni Kinni’, ‘Naina’ are hit songs but they don’t match that attire. That attire was more important to me than the songs and only these songs matched my attire.” He also spoke about ending his performance with ‘Main hun Punjab’ and said that it wasn’t a part of his performance initially. “I sang ‘Main hun Punjab’ even though it wasn’t a part of that song. I just sang it. It wasn’t even my plan,” he said.

Diljit also discussed that after every show, he discusses the performance with his team so they can speak about all the mistakes they made and correct them. He confessed that they made a few mistakes on Jimmy Fallon’s show as well. “We made so many mistakes last night. Next morning, we went for a walk in Central Park and discussed those mistakes,” he said.

In the last couple of years, Diljit has played at many international venues to packed houses but the singer-actor has stayed true to his roots and has continued sing in Punjabi, even though some part of his audience does not understand the language. “It is very important for me to do my international performances singing Punjabi songs. Punjabi dress is important,” he said.
