Lean hog futures were down 30 cents to $1.60 in the front two months on Tuesday, with other contracts up 17 to 95 cents. The CME Lean Hog Index was down 71 cents at $90.73 on June 14. Seasonal strength has been muted this spring. The USDA National Base Hog price reported at $89.02 on Tuesday afternoon.

USDA’s Pork Cutout Value was back lower in the Wednesday PM print, down 37 cents to $97.66. The ham and rib were the only primals reported higher. USDA estimated Wednesday’s FI hog slaughter at 483,000 head, with the 3-day total this week at 1.424. That is up 9,000 head from a week ago and 48,177 head higher vs. the same week a year ago.

Jul 24 Hogs  closed at $93.775, down $1.600,

Aug 24 Hogs  closed at $91.575, down $0.300

Oct 24 Hogs  closed at $78.400, up $0.175,
