Salman Khan’s statement in the firing incident outside his house in Bandra was recorded by the Mumbai Police on Wednesday. Along with Salman, his brother Arbaaz Khan’s statement was also taken at their Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartments. As per a report in PTI, a four-member crime branch team visited their house and recorded Salman’s statement for over four hours. Arbaaz’s statement was recorded for over two hours.

The reports also state that the two were asked around 150 questions by the cops. An official told PTI that Salman acknowledged that there is an actual threat to his life. In his statement, Salman told the police that he was home on the day of the firing incident, April 14. He said that he returned late the previous night and was sleeping when the incident took place. He was woken up by the firing.

Arbaaz said that he was at his Juhu residence when the incident took place but his statement was recorded as he is aware of the threats that have previously been issued against his brother. As per a report in Hindustan Times, Arbaaz said that this was the third incident as someone had previously left a threatening note outside their house and had done a recce at their farmhouse in Panvel. He was quoted by the publication saying, “Earlier, someone left a threatening note which was found outside their house and Bishnoi gang members conducted recce at their Panvel farmhouse. This (firing) is the third incident, and the police should take it seriously.”

The Indian Express quoted a police official saying, “As part of the probe, we have recorded the statements of Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz. They have corroborated the sequence of events that took place on the morning of April 14, when four rounds were fired outside the actor’s Bandra residence.”

As per the crime branch, the attack was carried out as per the orders of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who has threatened Salman in the past too. The gangster is currently in Sabarmati jail. Bishnoi has claimed that he was targeting the actor because he shot a blackbuck in 1998 during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain. The police, however, states that Bishnoi is trying to gain popularity by threatening a movie star.

Earlier this month, the Navi Mumbai Police arrested five people linked to Bishnoi who had planned to target the actor at his farmhouse in Panvel.
