Actor Kajol‘s The Trial co-star Noor Malabika Das was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on June 6. She was 37. As per reports, the police recovered her decomposed body from her Lokhanwala Apartment and suicide is suspected. Her body was found after her neighbors informed Oshiwara police station of a foul smell coming from her apartment.
Mumbai Police have launched an investigation into her death and Noor’s family, who are in their native place, have also been informed. The actor was cremated on Sunday by an NGO. Meanwhile, All India Cine Workers Association has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, demanding a probe into her death. The letter said, “Her untimely death is a poignant reminder of the disturbing trend of suicides within the Indian film fraternity. The recurrence of such tragic incidents within the Bollywood industry calls for a serious introspection and a thorough investigation into the underlying causes. It is imperative to explore all possible factors, including the potential for foul play, to ensure that the truth is brought to light and justice is served.

“The All Indian Cine Workers Association urgently appeals to you, Honourable Shri Eknath Shinde, and Honourable Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Home Minister of Maharashtra, to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Noor Malabika Das’s suicide. We urge you to consider all possible angles, including the possibility of foul play, to ensure that justice is served and that the truth is brought to light,” the letter said.

One of Noor Malabika’s good friends, actor Aloknath Pathak told the media that he knew Noor for many years. The two have worked together in several films and shows. He also informed that Noor’s family lived with her in Mumbai until last month; they returned back to their village only a week back.

Noor Malabika Das’s last post on Instagram was a strong message about self-love. She shared a picture of herself and wrote in the caption, “There is only one face and that is Noor Malabika matching with no one else and I no need to see the mirror my beauty is according to your reflection. My mirror is the world sometimes it’s sweet, sometimes better, sometimes silly, sometimes playful, sometimes naughty, sometimes jolly, sometimes kind, sometimes cool, sometimes fire, sometimes childish, sometimes matured.. according to the swing.” This reel was shared on her handle five days ago.
