Kartik Aaryan, who made his acting debut with Luv Ranjan’s 2011 film Pyaar Ka Punchnama, and went on to star in his other films Akaash Vani (2013), and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015), recently opened up about not being cast in Luv’s film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (2023), which went on to become a hit at the box office. The film starred Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Kartik, who had a cameo role in the film, revealed Luv informed the actor about casting Ranbir in the lead role. Talking about how he felt, he said, “I am extremely possessive about my team.”

In a recent interview with Lallantop, Kartik said, “Luv Ranjan informed me about the film. I think he had his own reasons to not cast me and it’s not necessary that all directors will make films with the same actor. And I am sure whenever we collaborate again, we will have fun. We are extremely comfortable with each other. I feel we never really had our relationship affected by this. However, I am extremely possessive about my team.”

Previously, in an interview with News18, Kartik said, “Luv launched me and he will always have a special place in my heart.” The actor further said that he is waiting for the director to offer him a film.
