It’s been over a month since Heeramandi premiered on Netflix. However, the discussion around Sharmin Segal’s performance in the web series hasn’t stopped. The actor has been target of negative criticism, memes and trolls since May 1. A set of people online have also shared interview clips of the actor in a bad light, attracting more trolls. While many of her co-stars defended the Heeramandi actor, who also happens to be the niece of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the latest star to join the list is mom-to-be Richa Chadha.

The actress, on Thursday, took to her Instagram story to share a screenshot of a comment that read, “Don’t ever return to that show. It was specifically made for an emotion less hamming nepokid.” Highlighting the comment, Richa Chadha wrote, “Kind is cool.”

Further, sharing a long note, Richa who didn’t the take name of Sharmin, wrote, “For the past month, whenever I have been able to keep track and be vigilant enough, I have been deleting negative comments about a co-star that appear in my comments. Guys? Offer constructive criticism, but this much visceral hate? It’s one thing to reject someone’s performance, theek hai! Mat karo pasand, aapka haq hai. Par aise chatkare le ke troll to mat karo? (It’s your right to dislike a content, but at least don’t take pleasure in trolling someone.) Please? Out of context interview clips (that too from a legit roast, y’all are using). Why?”

She added, “I know it’s tempting to jump on a trend, but to make another human being click bait? I think we can all do better than that, be better than that. Be kind, please.”

The actor then asked her followers to move on and concluded her note with, “It can affect someone’s mental health. A big election just happened, there’s a heat wave on, there’s so much going on in the world! Please move on?”

Previously, many other co-stars of Sharmin Segal including Aditi Rao Hydari and Taha Shah defended the actor.

Sharmin Segal played the role of Alamzeb, daughter of Manisha Koirala’s character Mallikajaa in Heeramandi. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali web series also starred Fardeen Khan, Sonkashi Sinha, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, among others.
