Befitting its title, the pre-release event of Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram was held at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Thousands of people thronged the event, and when Mahesh Babu took the stage, the Telugu star got emotional as he remembered his dad. He said that Sankranti is different after the death of his father (15, November 2022). However, he pointed at the huge crowd of fans and called them his ‘father, mother, and everything.’

He said, “The video clip played at the event stated that I have been in the industry for the past 25 years, and I couldn’t believe it. I cannot forget the love that you all have shown me, and it keeps increasing with time. I have nothing but to fold my hands before you all. You are in my heart forever,” and added, “Sankranti is always special to me. It was more special for my Nanna Kirshna. All my Sankranti releases have been a blockbuster, and let’s do a hit this time as well. A huge hit.”

About his missing his dad, Mahesh said, “This year seems different to me as my dad is not here with us. He used to call me and talk about my film’s box office collection every time. I’d feel extremely happy hearing that. I would always wait for that phone call. Now, you have to do that for me. From now on, you all are my mother, father, and everything. I need your blessings.”

Sharing the clip from the event, Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar reacted to his speech with a heartfelt message on Instagram. She wrote, “I’m probably the last person to stand up and speak about how loved MB is amongst his fans—super fans!! It’s always been the people of our two states and so many all over the world who shower immense love on him from time to time. They have been supportive of him in all his endeavors and pushed him to work even harder!! But today, after seeing the reception he and his GK team received in our very own hometown, Guntur, I can proudly say that MB, you have grown to become an emotion for your people… and this love we as a family will cherish for as long as we live. I also want to add that we always reciprocate our love in more ways than one, and I sincerely hope you receive it as much. I take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who love him so dearly! I’m filled with gratitude. My heart is full.”
