Cassie Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, shared a message of support for his wife after she spoke out about newly released surveillance footage showing the singer being assaulted by ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“Love you so much, perfect example for our daughters. ❤️,” Fine, 31, commented on Ventura’s Instagram statement about the video on Thursday.
The “Me & U” singer, 37, and Fine — who tied the knot in 2019 — share two daughters: Frankie, 4, and Sunny, 3.
The personal trainer was replying to Ventura’s brave response to the shocking footage of Diddy, 54, violently beating her at a hotel in 2016.
“Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” Ventura wrote via Instagram Thursday. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”
She continued, “Domestic violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become.”
The pop star said that she is on a “healing journey” that is “never ending.”
“With a lot of hard work, I am better today but I will always be recovering from my past,” she wrote.
She then reminded her followers to believe women who come forward about domestic violence.
“It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in,” she said. “I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone.”
Last week, CNN released footage of Combs, 54, kicking, punching and dragging his then-girlfriend in a hotel nearly eight years ago.
Upon its release, Combs posted an apology video on his Instagram, sharing that he was “disgusted” with himself and that his “behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said, adding that he sought help in therapy and rehab after attacking Ventura.

Combs notably did not mention Ventura’s name in the apology video. CNN later reported that the rapper could not legally mention her name due to their November 2023 lawsuit settlement — which occurred one day after she accused him of rape and physical abuse.
Ventura had detailed the hotel incident in the filing, though Combs denied the accusations and called her claims “offensive and outrageous.”
Fine posted a statement after Diddy’s response to the video went viral, writing that “men who hit women aren’t men.”
Even with video proof of Combs’ egregious assault on Ventura, The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Diddy could not be charged due to the statute of limitations.
However, multiple women have since come forward with assault accusations pegged against the “Bad Boy for Life” artist and his homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by federal agents in connection with a sex-trafficking investigation in March.
