“When everything you once had has turned to ashes, there’s only one path left: revenge!” In the trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming series Karmma Calling, Indrani Kothari (Raveena Tandon) boldly declares, “And in this story, no one will be forgiven.”

But who exactly is Indrani Kothari? The promo introduces her as the queen of Bollywood in the 90s and now, the “rajmata” of Alibaug. As the trailer unfolds, it emphasises that within the world of the affluent and rulers, rules don’t matter, offering a glimpse into its darker aspects.

Indrani isn’t the sole person in the world of the Kotharis. Enter Karma Talwar (Namrata Sheth), the latest addition to Alibaug’s elite society, who forms a suspiciously close bond with “the tragically privileged billionaire” Ahaan Kothari, much to Indrani’s displeasure.

Instructing her team to unveil Karma’s true identity, Indrani asserts, “She’s definitely hiding something.” “Fear Karma, not god. God forgives; Karma doesn’t,” she adds, setting the stage for a gripping revenge thriller.

Also featuring Varun Sood, Vikramjeet Virk, Viraf Patel, Rohit Roy and Amy Aela, Karmma Calling is directed by Ruchi Narain and will exclusively stream on Disney Plus Hotstar starting January 26.

“Playing Indrani Kothari helped me explore a very different aspect of myself as an actor, it is unlike any characters I have played before . I am experimenting with my characters. Indrani is powerful, strong-headed and wants to maintain her position in the elitist society. She has secrets to hide but her life is altered in many ways as Karma Talwar enters the picture but she is not a woman to give in to her Karma that easily. Karmma Calling is a tale of the glamorous, powerful Indrani Kothari and the enigmatic Karma Talwar and it’ll surely keep the audiences on Disney+ Hotstar hooked,” India Today quoted Tandon as saying.
