The official teaser for the much-anticipated Double ISMART has arrived, and it indicates that the film will deliver on expectations. Serving as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit iSmart Shankar, this science fiction actioner directed by Puri Jagannadh will feature Ram Pothineni reprising his role as Ustaad “iSmart” Shankar.
The 86-second teaser, released on the occasion of Ram Pothineni’s 36th birthday on Wednesday, begins by immediately teasing Shankar’s carefree and mischievous behaviour. However, the journey won’t be easy for him this time, as Jagannadh has pitted Shankar against the fearless and powerful Big Bull (Sanjay Dutt). As the small action sequences turn into massive spectacles, it becomes evident that Double ISMART is bigger and grander than its predecessor.

Also starring Kavya Thapar, Bani J, Ali, Getup Sreenu, Sayaji Shinde, Makrand Deshpande and Temper Vamsi, the film has been produced by director Jagannadh and former actor Charmme Kaur under the banner of Puri Connects. Sharing the link to the teaser on social media, Puri Connects wrote, “Let’s Steppa Maar 💃. Igniting the double dose of action, entertainment, and mass elation 😎⚡️.”
While its music is composed by Manisharma and cinematography by Sam K Naidu and Gianni Giannelli, the film’s editing has been handled by Karthika Sreenivas R. Double iSmart will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.
Despite earning mixed responses from all quarters, iSmart Shankar had emerged as a major commercial success. In our review of the movie, we noted, “iSmart Shankar is another film that exposes Puri Jagannadh’s inability to reinvent himself as a filmmaker-writer.”
