Jennifer Lopez has come under a barrage of criticism for her seemingly brusque behavior at Monday’s Met Gala.
In a TikTok video that has since gone viral on social media, USA Today reporter Anika Reed asked the “I’m Real” singer, “Who are you wearing tonight?” as she was making her way up the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s grand staircase.
Lopez, 54, briefly looked in Reed’s direction, simply responding, “Schiaparelli,” before breaking eye contact and continuing her way up the stairs with help from an assistant.
After seeing the clip, netizens were quick to jump in with their opinions in the comments section, with many of them offering sarcastic responses.
“The definition of a ray of sunshine,” one critic joked, while another noted, “Such a sweetie.”
A third commented, “Her kindness radiates through the screen. I’m deaddd.”
One more wrote, “She seems like a bundle of joy.”
Others sarcastically described the performer as “kind,” “nice,” “humble and down to earth.”
However, the “Hustlers” star did have some fans come to her defense – albeit in a backhanded way.
“Jlo doesn’t mind being a b and I love that about her!” wrote one fan.
Lopez, who co-hosted this year’s gala with Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Bad Bunny and Anna Wintour, also won kudos amongst fans for her elaborate gown honoring the “Garden of Time” dress code.
The sparkling dress was custom made by Schiaparelli Haute Couture with over 2,500,000 silver foil bugles and beads and took over 800 hours of hand embroidery work.
The singer accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewels including a necklace that featured more than 75 carats of diamonds.

Of course, this wasn’t Lopez’s first time gracing the prestigious Met Gala carpet.
She has graced Fashion’s Biggest Night several times over the past few years, stepping out in a black-and-pink Ralph Lauren gown that showed off her impressive abs for the 2023 fête.
It’s going to be a busy summer for the “Let’s Get Loud” singer, who will be hitting the road for her “This Is Me…Live | The Greatest Hits” tour, which she rebranded as a career-spanning concert after canceling some dates and struggling to sell tickets.
