One of the most anticipated Kannada films of the year, Upendra’s upcoming feature UI has been generating buzz since its initial announcement. The excitement surrounding the movie has only intensified since Kannada star Kiccha Sudeep unveiled the movie’s first look on Monday during a grand ceremony in Bengaluru. In the presence of veteran producer Allu Arvind and superstar Shivarajkumar, Sudeep released a 116-second teaser of UI, providing a glimpse into its surreal world.
Though the teaser doesn’t reveal many details about the film, it begins with a disclaimer stating, “This is not the AI world. This is the UI world,” accompanied by surreal visuals of a land bathed in purple. The camera then soars above a landscape, offering a bird’s-eye view of the area adjacent to hillocks, a water body and various buildings.

As the camera enters the plains, a street occupied by traders comes into view, but even they appear unusual. The teaser gradually becomes more unnatural, culminating in the arrival of a powerful force.
Touted as a pan-Indian film with a staggering budget of Rs 100 crore, this ambitious period actioner has been in the making since the mid-2000s, with the team asserting that it will redefine the standards of entertainment.

The promo showcases an entirely different visual world built for UI by Upendra, boasting top-of-the-line special effects, vibrant landscapes, haunting music, high-octane action sequences, impressive art direction and Upendra’s signature heroic entry. Thus, the teaser hints at the grand-scale entertainment that the World of UI promises.
While Upendra himself stars in the lead role, UI also features Reeshma Nanaiah, Sunny Leone and Murali Sharma in key roles. The film’s soundtrack and music are composed by the Kantara famed B Ajaneesh Loknath.
