Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about what her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, thinks she does for a living. Priyanka, while talking about her daughter, also revealed that she feels “mom’s guilt” because she has to leave the 2-year-old behind when she travels for work.

“My daughter thinks I do make-believe for a living. It is a little different,” Priyanka told Quint Neon. Opening up about suffering from mom’s guilt every time she leaves her daughter home when she is on set, she further said, “I have so many people around my daughter, but I still feel guilty when I go to set. So, I have her come to me (on shoots). I am privileged… my mom used to take me to hospitals with her and I used to be in the nurses’ station playing with them… I would visit my dad’s office too… this is one thing that really helped me understand what my mom and dad (Ashok Chopra) were doing when they weren’t with me and I went to school.”

Priyanka often shares candid titbits about her life in the US with husband Nick Jonas and their daughter. She recently went live on Instagram and shared how her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, is a hands-on grandmother, who makes sure she steps up every time Priyanka needs help with Malti Marie.

“Malti is at home with my mom, which is really nice. My mom was telling me a story about how when she went to work, when I was younger, she’d leave me with my grandma and go to work feeling a sense of calm. And I think she’s returning the favour to me, which is lovely,” said Priyanka, who was in France for the shoot of her upcoming project.

Priyanka and Nick tied the knot in December, 2018. The couple welcomed Malti Marie in January 2022. On the work front, Priyanka will be seen in Heads of State, along with Idris Elba and John Cena. She also has The Bluff, which will be directed by Frank E Flowers, and will also feature Karl Urban.
