The Little Mermaid actor Halle Bailey welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with boyfriend-rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. aka DDG. The couple took to their social media handles and shared the news with their fans. Halle and DDG also revealed the name of their son. They have named him ‘Halo.’

Halle shared an adorable picture featuring her son’s little hand, which had a bracelet with his name on it. She wrote, “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo the world is desperate to know you.”

The couple debuted on the red carpet of the BET Awards. They also shared an intimate TikTok video doing vocal warm-ups. However, in 2023, DDG faced criticism for his song “Famous,” which appeared to target Bailey’s press tour for her role as Ariel in The Little Mermaid.

Halle opened up about love and relationships in an interview with British Vogue. She said, “Experiencing deep love for the first time in my life is something I feel has opened a whole new world for me creatively. What it feels like to love someone other than your family, like somebody you may not have known two years ago but now they’re the center of your world. There’s a lot of eyes on me now, especially with what’s to come. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have so many eyes on me, especially experiencing something like this for the first time.”
