The trailer of Dhanush’s upcoming film Captain Miller dropped on Saturday and gave a glimpse of the film’s world. Captain Miller will see him playing a violent character, ready to fight tooth and nail against the British.

The 2 minute and 54 seconds trailer shows a lot of gun shots, sword fighting, shooting and bombing, giving a hint of the violence that will feature in the film. Dhanush’s character seems to be protecting his village and its mines against the British. Towards the end of the trailer, it is revealed that he used to be a soldier working for the British army and was known as Captain Miller.

Fans loved the trailer and praised it in the comments section. One user wrote, “Goosebumps in each frame. He’s gonna dominate this pongal.” Another user wrote, “No words to say about action rush cuts. Deserve a national award for Dhanush. Captain Miller recently got several recommendations of change from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Besides telling the makers to reduce the violence towards the end by 40 percent, CBFC has asked the them to remove all the demeaning words used against the British. They have directed the makers to mute words like ‘Vellakaraga naaigal’ (White dogs) and white pigs. The makers have also been asked to modify the visuals of blood.

Directed by Arun Matheshwaran, Captain Miller also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shivaraj Kumar, Nivedita Sathish, Vinayakan, and Sandeep Kishan in pivotal roles. The film has been given a U/A certificate, and it will be released on January 12.
