Riddhima Kapoor and Bharat Sahni’s wedding, which took place nearly 20 years ago, remains a topic of fascination, with anecdotes from the celebration continuing to captivate many fans. In a recent interview, the couple revealed that their favourite moment from the wedding was the sangeet ceremony, unanimously agreeing that it was the most memorable event of the wedding.
During the interaction, Riddhima reminisced about how some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Sridevi performed at her sangeet ceremony, all because of their relationships with her late father, Rishi Kapoor.
Recalling the memorable event, Riddhima shared with Galatta India, “Sridevi ji performed, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh performed, everyone performed actually but they did it because of dad, because of his goodwill and his love. They did it on their own and it was fun. Everyone had a blast. All the stars who performed they did it dil se, it was like ghar ki baat, like family.”
Riddhima, a lifelong fan of Salman Khan, was thrilled to see the superstar personally serving drinks at her wedding. She fondly recalled this gesture as “too sweet” of Salman. However, the sight of Salman playing bartender proved to be such a hit among the guests that they abandoned their drinks and rushed to the bar to have Salman Khan serve them. This prompted Rishi Kapoor to intervene and request Salman to step away from the bar as the liquor finished quickly.
Riddhima Kapoor, a renowned jewelry designer, and businessman Bharat Sahni tied the knot in 2006 after four years of dating.
Riddhima will soon be seen in the upcoming season of Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
