Taylor Swift’s “tortured poetry” was too much for one album to handle — so she released another.
In a “2 a.m. surprise” early Friday morning, the pop star told her Instagram followers that “The Tortured Poets Department” is a “secret double album.”
Swift, 34, explained, “I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs.”
She concluded, “And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours. 🤍”
The bonus tracks bring the Grammy winner’s 11th album to 31 songs with a runtime of more than two hours.
Swifties celebrated the news via X, with one gushing, “WTF DID I WAKE UP TO OMG DOUBLE ALBUM????”

Another quipped that they were “pulling another taylor swift double album all nighter.”
One song from “The Anthology” in particular has made headlines, with the songwriter seemingly shading Kim Kardashian nearly a decade after the duo’s feud began.
Many social media users pointed out that the capitalization in “thanK you aIMee” spells the reality star’s name.
The song, which is about a high school bully, features scathing lyrics about a “bronze spray-tanned” enemy who her mom “wish[es] were dead.”
However, Swift primarily targeted exes Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy in the blistering breakup album.
Follow ’s coverage of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s whirlwind romance
She dated the actor, 33, from 2016 to 2023 and followed up their six-year romance with a brief romance with the 35-year-old 1975 frontman.
Swift clarified, however, that she has “nothing to avenge” in a lengthy Instagram post about the project.
“[There are] no scores to settle once wounds have healed,” she wrote in part. “And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted.”
Swift is currently dating Travis Kelce, and football references in “The Alchemy” have led fans to believe the song is about him.
