SS Rajamouli has opened the door for Telugu cinema to think big, which has resulted in films like Hanu-Man, Bimbisara, Karthikeya, and Gaami. Joining the list is Teja Sajja’s upcoming movie Mirai. Based on a myth surrounding Ashoka the Great, the Karthik Gattamneni directorial weaves a story about good vs evil, which is as promising as it sounds.

The film introduces a myth about nine scriptures that were born out of the regret of Ashoka after the devastating war of Kalinga. The nine scriptures, capable of turning a mortal into a god, are protected by nine Yodhas who choose their successors. Now, an evil force is trying to lay its hand on the scriptures. To stop him, an equally powerful power of good has to emerge, and that’s Mirai (Teja Sajja).

Teja Sajja, who shot to fame with his recent release Hanu-Man, seems to have taken the fantasy route. The antagonist’s face is not revealed throughout the teaser, creating more intrigue for the film. Earlier speaking to Hindustan Times, the actor said, “Mirai has another Telugu actor playing the antagonist, and I play the lead, so it’s not a multi-starrer. My next film too is backed by a grand idea and is an ambitious project; it’s an action-adventure film. I will also be a part of Jai Hanuman (the sequel of Hanu-Man). The film will be all about Lord Hanuman, but I will be a part of it.”

Other than Teja, Ritika Nayak is part of Mirai. Further details about the cast and crew of the film are not yet revealed.
