Chiyaan Vikram is celebrating his 58th birthday on Wednesday, April 17. And amidst the excitement surrounding his upcoming film, Thangalaan, the film’s director Pa Ranjith and his crew unveiled a special tribute video showcasing Vikram’s powerful performance and offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the upcoming movie.

In response, Vikram shared the YouTube link of the tribute video, expressing gratitude to his team, “Thank you my team #Thangalaan for this fiery yet beautiful ‘tribute’,” he wrote. Vikram, who is known for the commitment that he brings to his projects, underwent extreme weight loss for the film. The scorching heat of the location can be felt in every frame of the tribute video. Vikram is seen rolling, fighting, and getting beaten up in the BTS video. Like always, the comments section of the video attracted praise for the actor’s dedication.

Thangalaan, helmed by Pa Ranjith, is a highly anticipated historical action drama featuring Vikram in the lead role as tribal leader. Set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Mines, Thangalaan will explore the struggles faced by the indigenous tribes that suffered due to the mining. Supporting Vikram is a talented ensemble including Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai.

Pa Ranjith highlighted the dedication of Vikram and the entire team, and sharing the tribute video, said that Vikram is a performer who defies expectations. Thangalaan was initially scheduled for an April release, but due to the upcoming elections, the makers opted to delay its premiere. However, the recently released tribute video teases that the film’s release is around the corner.

Jointly produced by Studio Green and Neelam Productions, the screenplay of Thangalaan is credited to Pa Ranjith, Tamil Prabha, and Azhagiya Periyavanan. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar, editing by RK Selva, and cinematography by A Kishore Kumar.
