Ali Abbas Zafar’s association with Salman Khan in films like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai put him on the map. However, after they collaborated for their third project, Bharat, rumours were rife that the direrctor-actor duo had a spat. A few days ago, Salman, however, put all such rumours to rest by giving a shout out to Ali’s upcoming film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and declaring it a ‘hit’

In a recent conversation, Ali addressed rumours surrounding his fallout with Salman post-Bharat. While not explicitly acknowledging any discord, the filmmaker affirmed that disagreements during filming are common between them. However, their deep-rooted admiration and affection for each other ensure that such disputes do not disrupt their collaboration.

Speaking to Connect FM Canada, Ali said, “My relationship with Bhai is a very special one. The best thing about Salman sir is that he is very transparent in what he is as a human. He is very honest. He doesn’t want to impress anyone, with anything. He is a very secure star. If he loves you, he will love you to death, if he is angry with you, he will show that anger, if he doesn’t like you, he will let you know that he doesn’t like you, and I think all human being should have that honesty. We should express how we feel about each other. He is such a pure soul that even though we have not worked together in the last 5-6 years, whenever we meet each other, we speak with the same love and respect. My respect for him is very high. Two people I regard very high is Aditya Chopra and Salman Khan. They both contributed a lot to my career.”

Speaking about their fallout post Bharat, he said, “There is this line in Sultan, ‘Jahan pyar zayada hota hai, wahan ladai jhagde bhi zyada hote hain (Fights will be there where there is immense love). We share a love like that. Whenever we are shooting, we often disagree with each other but I know that I love him the way his family loves him and there is a beautiful star and a very good actor in him and very few look at it. He is very emotional person and that’s why if he doesn’t like something about you, he will say it. But the good thing is he still understands who are his people. No matter what happens, I want to collaborate with him, whenever I write something, he is the first actor that comes to my mind and I feel there is no one as funny and smart as him in terms of emotional intelligence. He is the only one, the true blue superstar. His tweet shows the kind of heart he has.”

After Bharat, Ali and Salman didn’t collaborate for any project. The superstar, however, buried all their differences when he lauded Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s trailer. He wrote, “‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, akki n tiger best of luck for the movie yeh bohut badi hit hogi . Loved the trailer and Ali u need to break tiger n sultan ka record with this one. Umeed hai ke Hindustan ko aap aur aap ko Hindustan Eidi dengein…@akshaykumar @tigerjackieshroff @aliabbaszafar.”
