Prithviraj Sukumaran made headlines with his groundbreaking performance in filmmaker Blessy’s survival drama Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life, breaking several personal records in the process. The actor underwent a remarkable physical transformation for the film, shedding an impressive 31 kilograms.

Cinematographer Sunil KS offered insights into the intensity of Prithviraj’s commitment to his role, particularly highlighting a challenging nude scene. Speaking in an interview with The Cue Studio, Sunil recounted, “For the naked scene, Prithviraj was fasting for three days, not even water on the last day; before the shoot, he took 30ML vodka to drain the remaining water from the body. He was carried in a chair to the location. We needed to lift him from the chair before the shot.” His quote was translated by Christopher Kanagaraj, who shared it on X.

Prithviraj, in an earlier conversation with Hindustan Times, elaborated on his rigorous physical preparation for the role, stating, “The idea was that I looked like somebody who does not have access to enough food, and was starving most of the time. The only way I could do that is to actually adopt that process, which means that my transformation was almost entirely based on fasting. At times, I used to fast for up to 72 hours. I would drink water and black coffee, but nothing else.”

Aadujeevitham narrates the tale of a young labourer from Kerala who finds himself enslaved in the Middle East. Isolated and subjected to harsh conditions, he is forced to work as a shepherd in the desert.

Prithviraj’s dedication to his craft has not only earned him critical acclaim but also translated into significant commercial success for the film. According to Sacnilk, Aadujeevitham has amassed Rs 40.40 crore in India alone, with its global box office collections reaching an impressive Rs 75.05 crore.
