Children often see their parents as superheroes without capes, and it’s up to the parents to decide if they want to live up to that title for their loved ones. But what happens when, despite being a real superhero, you realise your powers may not be enough to save your child? How do you react when your child’s words, “I don’t feel scared when my dad is with me… My dad will always be there to protect me,” echo in your mind during such a challenging situation?

For Saindhav Koneru, this means it’s time to turn into “SaiKO” once again, aiming to raise a significant amount to save his daughter.

Sailesh Kolanu’s Saindhav, featuring Venkatesh Daggubati in the titular role, is set to hit the screens on January 13 and its recently released trailer emphasises that the movie will be a thrilling action spectacle, capitalising on Venky’s swagger.

The 216-second trailer kicks off with Saindhav (Venkatesh) sharing heartwarming moments with his daughter and wife Manogya (Shraddha Srinath). However, their smooth life takes a devastating turn when they learn that their daughter is suffering from the neuromuscular disorder of spinal muscular atrophy. To make matters worse, they realise the only way to save their child is through a Rs 17 crore injection.

As Saindhav endeavours to raise the funds, his dark past resurfaces and begins to haunt him, with his old rivals, especially the ruthless Vikas Malik (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), coming forward to eliminate SaiKO. The trailer suggests that the movie will focus on their intense battle.

Also starring Arya, Ruhani Sharma, Andrea Jeremiah, and Jisshu Sengupta, Saindhav is Nawazuddin’s first Telugu movie. Scheduled for release during the Sankranti/Pongal weekend, Saindhav will face tough competition from other releases like Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga, Ravi Teja’s Eagle, and Teja Sajja’s Hanuman at the box office in the Telugu states.
