“Ennodu vaa veedu varaikum. En veetai paar ennai pidikum” is a brilliant romantic line of Thamarai in the song “Nenjukkul Peidhidum Maam Mazhai” from Gautam Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram. It expresses how a house can exude the personality of the one living in it. It is true in the case of Malayalam actor Parvathy Thiruvothu, who recently gave a tour of her house.

In the video, Parvathy says that she wanted a home to counterbalance the impermanence in her line of work. With everchanging projects and colleagues, she wanted a place that would be a constant in her dynamic career.

The house is calm and has a lot of vegetation. In the video, Parvathy says she feels like she is the mother of 36 plants in her house. “I have a mango tree, which is fruiting. And people are shocked about it. I have a lemon tree, and I take the citrus fruit and put it in my salad,” she says. Among all other plants, she has a little shurb which has been with her for the past 18 years in the same pot.

Another highlight of her house is her library, which is made of stacked wooden boxes, which again is in line with the impermanent state of her life. It will be easy for her to shift them around.

“I wanted some privacy. And so, it is designed in such a way that nobody can look through… some mornings, I get up and make a cup of tea, and sit here and wonder, ‘Am I living in a house like this’,” she said.

On the work front, Parvathy will next be seen in Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan which features Vikram in the lead role
