Actor Vivian Dsena, who had embraced Islam last year, has now opened up about why the experience of observing Ramadan is all the more special for him. The actor said that this year marks his sixth Ramadan, and added that he is observing it to the T. The actor is married to Nouran Aly, a former journalist from Egypt. He said that he tries to spend time with his family in Bahrain during Ramadan.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the Daena said, “I have embraced Islam in Ramadan, this fact itself makes Ramadan very close to my heart. This year marks my sixth Ramadan and by God’s grace, I have been fasting every year. Fasting the entire month of Ramadan is mandatory for us as it’s one of the main five pillars of Islam, so I do observe the 30 days of course, unless there is an excuse that permits me to break the fast, such as an illness.”

The actor, known for his work on the popular show Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahani, added that it wasn’t easy when he began fasting, as kept wondering if he would be able to even pull it off. Water and caffeine are his necessities, Dsena said, so he feared how he would survive without them for long hours.

“I can’t deny I was very worried at the beginning about keeping the fast, especially because water and coffee are necessities for me; even my family and friends keep wondering how I am managing to stay without water or caffeine for 13 or 14 hours. God has been kind so far, my fasting journey has been decently smooth,” he added.

Vivian Dsena married Nouran Aly in 2022 in an intimate ceremony in Egypt, which he opened up about only last year. The couple has a daughter. Dsena was previously married to his Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani co-star Vahbiz Dorabjee. They got divorced in 2021.
