NZ Warriors have secured the service of Freddy Lussick for the next two seasons, after the hooker inked a contract extension with the Auckland-based NRL club.
On Sunday, the team announced Lussick's new deal will keep him with the Warriors until the end of the 2026 NRL season.
The 23-year-old Australian joined the side in 2022, when the team were based in Queensland during their COVID-19-enforced exile.
He's since played 36 games for the Warriors, primarily as a back-up for starting hooker Wayde Egan, most recently wearing the No. 9 jersey during Saturday's heartbreaking 30-26 defeat to Melbourne Storm.
"Obviously I'm extremely excited to extend my time here at the Warriors," said Lussick.
"As a team and a club, it feels like we are really clear in our direction at the moment.
"I want to continue to develop and round out my game under [coach Andrew Webster] and the coaching staff and to keep learning off the senior boys we have here."
Webster says Lussick has been a complete professional and has earned his contract extension.
"Freddy does a tremendous job for us in every sense," said Webster.
"His approach to training and improving his game during the preseason was outstanding.
"This new two-year contract is just reward for the effort he puts in for our club each and every day."
In 20202, Lussick made his NRL debut with Sydney Roosters and also had two games on loan to St George Illawarra in 2021, before signing with the Warriors.
Lussick is the youngest of three brothers to have featured in the NRL. The eldest Darcy played 117 games for Manly Sea Eagles between 2011 and 2017, before heading yo the UK's Super League, while Joey - also a hooker - is currently with Parramatta Eels.
