Ed Sheeran has been winning hearts ever since his arrival in India. The British singer and songwriter performed at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds on Saturday. The concert, which was a part of his Asia and Europe Tour, saw him sharing the stage with popular Indian artistes like Diljit Dosanjh and Armaan Malik. Videos and pictures of Sheeran performing tracks like “Lover” and “2Step” with Diljit and Armaan have gone viral on social media.

At the concert, fans were treated to a memorable surprise when Dosanjh, looking suave in black attire and a red turban, joined Sheeran on stage. Ed Sheeran kicked off his visit to India by visiting various schools in Mumbai. Apart from enjoying performances by students, the singer also treated them to a private concert. He also spent time with several Bollywood celebrities as they hosted special parties in his honour. Farah Khan, who had hosted a party for Sheeran back in 2017, again invited the singer for a get-together. Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma also hosted a big bash for Sheeran, which saw many Bollywood celebrities in attendance.

Speaking with Brut India, Sheeran spoke about his experience in India. He shared, “The first time I came over here (India), I went to a small party with a bunch of people. Those were big stars in Bollywood. And I think that kind of opened the door. There’s a lot of Indian music that’s fantastic. I’d say that’s kind of what I’ve been listening to the most for the last, like, a year and a bit.”

The singer also praised the richness of Indian music, revealing his fondness for artistes such as Diljit Dosanjh and Armaan Malik. He said, “I have listened to a lot of Diljit Dosanjh. I think he is great. I love Armaan Mallik, obviously having worked with him. And I think King has made some really exciting stuff.”
