A Japan Airlines airplane was on Tuesday seen in flames on the runway of Tokyo's Haneda Airport after a possible collision with a Coast Guard aircraft.

The plane had arrived from Japan's Shin-Chitose Airport on the northern island of Hokkaido.

The footage showed orange flames coming out of windows and the airplane's nose on the ground as rescue workers sprayed it.

The images also showed the aircraft moving briskly along the runway at Haneda Airport, one of the world's busiest, before an explosion burst from beneath and behind it.

According to the latest reports, all 379 people on board the plane have been evacuated.
