Midday cattle prices are $0.82 to $1.22 weaker at the midday prints. April was up by over $1 earlier in the last trade day for the week. Front month feeders are working triple digits weaker as well, with April down by $1.67. Cash cattle sales picked up on Thursday, from $182 to $186. USDA had the bulk of prices $1 to $2 above last week. The CME Feeder Cattle Index was $1.17 higher at $248.07 on 3/6.  

 

USDA’s Friday morning Boxed Beef prices were firmer. Choice boxes were up by 35 cents to $306. report showed Choice was $1.70 stronger and Select was up by $1.17. USDA’s FI cattle slaughter was marked at 484k head for the week through Thursday. That compares to 495k head last week and 501k head during the same week last year.  

 

April 24 Cattle  are at $187.575, down $1.150, 

Jun 24 Cattle  are at $183.450, down $1.150, 

Aug 24 Cattle  are at $182.400, down $1.100, 

Cash Cattle Index was $181.840, from $181.84 last week 

Mar 24 Feeder Cattle  are at $250.100, down $0.925 

April 24 Feeder Cattle  are at $255.225, down $1.075
