Shark Tank India 3 has had its fair share of disagreements and discord. Recently, a  pitcher for skincare startup Avataar, Saumya Misra, had an unpleasant interaction with the judges on Shark Tank India. While she was termed arrogant by Anupam Mittal, judge Peyush Bansal also highlighted how Saumya got defensive when valid points were raised. Vineeta Singh, meanwhile, took offence over a comment Saumya made about her clients. Now, the pitcher spoke to the Times Of India sharing how her experience was a harrowing one and she would never like to meet the sharks again.

Narrating her experience, Saumya told TOI that she never imagined the episode would go the way it did. While her pitch started on a positive note, a lot of that part was edited out.

Commenting on what went wrong, Saumya explained to the publication that things went south when the comparison began. She said she objected to the judges compared her to others who were doing different things. She said she kept trying to to tell the sharks to not put everyone in the same bucket but they didn’t listen to her. She called her brand a beauty company and a skin clinic that works on the body problems and is cost-effective. She said when she asked sharks not to compare her with other brands who were different, she was told that ‘yeh toh koi bhi kar lega’, ‘ismein toh koi bhi differentiation nahi hai’ and that went on for a good 30-40 mins. She claimed there was a lot of pushback from all five of the sharks.

She also added that she gave up on the deal when she realized the judges were not ready to understand her point of view. She said while Peyush used the word ‘ladki’, she never said that. She said she always referred to therapists as therapists, and was just trying to put the client’s version. She claimed Peyush just hung on to it and it was a very smart attempt to build his own PR.

Saumya further claimed it became all about her character. Instead of saying that her business was not good, it was insinuated that she is not a good person, who doesn’t respect her employees and customers. She said that she broke down at that moment.

Stating that Vineeta also gave her a tough time, the Avataar founder said that she was belittled by the judge. She said because the sharks didn’t have any counter about her business, they harped on her personality. She said she would never like to meet Vineeta and Peyush after all of this.

Finally, Saumya cracked a deal with Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal.
