Mahesh Babu’s latest release Guntur Kaaram seems to have become a decent hit at the box office, and the Telugu star is happy about the outcome. In a recent interview, the actor said that he is glad the film has struck a chord with the audience and has made him believe in straightforward storytelling.

Over the years, many important films have shaped him into the star he is now, but the actor has three top picks, which according to him changed his filmography for good. He was quoted as saying by India Today, “Three films that have significantly shaped my career would be Murari, Pokiri, and Srimanthudu, Each of these projects allowed me to explore different facets of storytelling and connect with audiences on a profound level.”

Murari (2001) is a supernatural drama about a cursed family, whose all male heirs die at the age of 30. It became a huge hit in the formative years of Mahesh Babu’s career. Later, Mahesh had a series of hits like Okkadu, Athdu, and Businessman. However, Pokiri propelled him to superstardom. The film became a huge blockbuster that Tamil star Vijay remade as Pokkiri, with Prabhudheva directing it. Srimanthudu, which was released in 2015, became the biggest success of Mahesh’s career. The film about the son of a billionaire adopting a village, struck a chord with the audience making it a great success.

After Srimanthudu, Mahesh Babu had films like Bharat Ane Nenu and Sarileru Neekevvaru. However, the Telugu star has yet to make an impact like Srimanthudu in recent times. Hopefully, he will be pulling it off with SS Rajamouli’s film, which features him as an action hero. Talking about the movie, he said, “The pre-production for Rajamouli sir’s film is progressing well, and I’m excited to start soon.”
