Rihanna was the star of the show on Friday night at the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar. But, the international pop star chose to perform barefoot at the event and if reports are to be believed, there is a significance behind her choosing not to wear any footwear during her act.

During her performance on Friday evening, Rihanna dazzled the audience with renditions of her popular hits like Diamonds, Rude Boy, and Pour It Up. According to a report on ET, the icon performer barefoot at the event for 40 minutes. A source in the attendance told the website, “It was a little remake of her Super Bowl performance, which was iconic. People near the front of the stage were singing along. She performed barefoot, which was an homage to the Indian culture. She didn’t have any wardrobe changes but added a pink cap at the end of her performance.”

However, her memorable performance unfortunately had a wardrobe malfunction when her glittering green gown suffered a tear near the underarm. Despite the mishap, Rihanna’s stage presence  has become the talking point of the pre-wedding event.

This was Rihanna’s first ever concert in India and she delighted her fans. The pop star bid adieu to India on Saturday morning but before she left, she posed with the photographers stationed at the airport and even hugged the security officers who were her fans.

At the after party, Rihanna shook a leg on some Hindi songs and her video with Janhvi Kapoor dancing to Zingaat is being widely shared online.
