Malayalam actress Lena, who has been part of films Traffic, Spirit and Kanayaka Talkies, surprised everyone on Tuesday by announcing that she is married to Prasanth Nair, the astronaut who was recently announced to be part of the test pilots undergoing training for India’s ambitious space mission, Gagaanyaan. Though the couple got married on January 17, it was kept a secret due to the confidentiality of the programme. Lena has now shed more light on their relationship and what made them like each other.

Prasanth was impressed by one of the interviews of Lena, where she spoke about spirituality and that’s when he decided to get in touch with her.

Talking about the wedding, Lena told News 18, “On January 17, 2024, the muhurtham for our arranged marriage was carefully chosen after consulting astrological considerations. We were advised that it was the most auspicious date. Our parents could attend it. Unfortunately, Prashanth’s siblings and my sister were unable to join us. We understood the confidential nature of Prashanth’s job and that they have very strict protocol.”

She is now glad that the secret is finally out. Being a celebrity it was indeed hard for her to keep the wedding a secret, however, the couple pulled through. “I am glad now that finally it’s out in the open,” she said.

Lena was earlier married to Abhilash Kumar. The couple got separated in 2013, and the actress thought she would never get married again. “I have been single for 12 years and never thought I would get married again, especially considering my deep dive into spirituality, which I never thought I would find someone to vibe with spiritually because that’s a very delicate balance,” she said. Lenaa added they both have become one soul in two different bodies in a very short time.

Talking about her husband, she revealed that he is a foodie but knows how to eat right without missing out on everything. The training for Gaganyaan is turning him into a superhuman, according to the actress. “Prashanth is a warrior; he has been in the force and has been a fighter pilot, which I feel is more dangerous. Prashanth’s parents live in Palakkad, with two brothers and one sister, none of them in the forces,” she said.
