The song “Mast Malang Jhoom” from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released on Wednesday. From the look of it, the song looks like an attempt to recreate the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from SS Rajamouli’s acclaimed film, RRR. Besides Akshay and Tiger’s dance moves, there is really nothing to look forward to in the song.

Composed by Vishal Mishra and penned by Irshad Kamil, “Mast Malang Zoom” doesn’t excite you to either listen to it for the second time or put on your dancing shoes despite its peppy beats. The moment the video of the song begins with a closeup of tapping feet, you fear it taking the ‘Naatu Naatu’ route. As the video progresses, you are proved right as you watch Akshay and Tiger attempting footwork similar to the one aced by Ram Charan and Jr NTR in “Naatu Naatu”. Sonakshi Sinha joins them too. Choreographer Bosco Caesar seems to have taken notes from Prem Rakshit.

The setting also looks familiar as suited-up men dance along with Akshay and Tiger, and the women watch this dance duel between the two lead stars of the film. Sung by Vishal Mishra, Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi, “Mast Malang Zoom” is a passable track in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan album.

Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan looks like a perfect high-octane action drama from its trailer and BTS videos. The film has been shot across unseen and exotic locales across Scotland, London, India and UAE. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays Akshay and Tiger’s enemy in the film.

The movie, which borrows its title from David Dhawan’s 1998 film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in the lead role, is all set to hit theaters on Eid.
