Article 370 box office collections remained steady on the film’s fifth day of release. The Yami Gautam-starrer earned around Rs 3.25 cr nett on Tuesday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film’s day five nett collection was the same as its first Monday haul, which marks an encouraging trend at the box office.

The film has made Rs 29.40 crore domestically so far, and is likely to close it first week with around Rs 35 cr. Article 370 is helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Jambhale. The film had a worldwide opening weekend of nearly Rs 35 cr, as per the producers, and with the collections of Monday and Tuesday factored in, the figure would have surpassed Rs 40 cr mark. The film will aim to cross Rs 50 cr globally before Friday.

Article 370 has seen a good trending at the box office, with many trade pundits predicting that it will eventually emerge as a hit. The film has virtually no major competition now, as the only other film that’s clocking in decent numbers at the box office is Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.

The next big release will be on March 8, when Ajay Devgn’s horror drama Shaitaan opens in cinemas, followed by Sidharth Malhotra starrer actioner Yodha– by then Article 370 would be on its last legs.

The film, also starring Priyamani, is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar. Yami and Aditya got married in June 2021 and are currently expecting a baby. The film will be held to the standards of recent politically motivated Hindi movies such as The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story, not to mention Aditya and Yami’s own Uri: The Surgical Strike. Each of those films grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide.
