Days after heavy rains wreaked havoc in the Tamil Nadu districts of Thoothukudi (Tuticorin) and Nellai (Tirunelveli), leading to significant floods that impacted numerous lives, Tamil actor “Thalapathy” Vijay stepped forward to assist those in distress and distributed relief materials to families hit by the floods.
Last week, relentless showers had battered the southern districts of Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi and Kanyakumari, bringing regular life to a halt and resulting in widespread inundation.
Responding to the ongoing challenges in the aftermath of the floods, Vijay arrived at Tuticorin airport on Saturday and then headed to his Mata House in the Nellai district to provide assistance to those affected by heavy rains.
During his visit, he also interacted with some of the people who managed to reach the venue and even took selfies with them.

The members of Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkham distributed relief materials last week to those affected by Cyclone Michaung in the Saidapet area of Chennai.
In the midst of widespread speculations about Vijay’s imminent entry into Tamil Nadu politics, this recent development has only intensified the rumours. Sources close to the actor had told The Indian Express earlier this year that Vijay was looking to launch his party following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and may contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.
Vijay was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Leo, which went on to become one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2023. He is currently working on a Venkat Prabhu directorial, tentatively titled as Thalapathy 68.
