The lean hog futures market is trading mixed but mostly firmer across the front months on Friday. Futures are within 10 cents of UNCH so far. The April contract has seen a $1.13 range so far. USDA’s National Average Base Hog price for Friday morning was $1.18 stronger to $69.50. The CME Lean Hog Index for 2/13 was $74.60, another 49 cents stronger. 

USDA’s AM National Pork Carcass Cutout quote was $91.11, another $1.32 stronger. USDA’s estimate for FI hog slaughter was 1.955m head for the week through that is 2k but is up from 1.913m head during the same week last year.

April 24 Hogs  is at $84.975, down $0.075,

May 24 Hogs  is at $88.85, UNCH,

April 24 Pork Cutout  is at $91.425, UNCH,
